I was tasked to create 3 Mood boards, responding to design prompts and problems from clients. Below is the info I was given by a potential employer for each Design Challenge.
Design Challenge #1: Menu for a Ramen & Small Plates Restaurant
Everyday People is a small Ramen and Small Plates restaurant in Nottingham started by Masterchef finalist Pete Hewitt. Inspired by street food, the brand straddles a high-end professional feel with hints towards their 'street' origins. Their design is rooted in a clean, minimalist approach with a touch of urban/street/graffiti playfulness.
Their current menu was designed in-house and they are looking for a new menu design that better embodies their spirit but also does a better job of introducing the customer to Everyday People, explaining the menu and making the process of choosing and ordering more enjoyable. In an intro call, the client mentioned that they like the style of old school Chinese takeaway menus.
Design Challenge #2: Wayfinding for a Conference & Events Centre
The Trent Conference Centre is Nottingham's leading conference and events centre. They operate out of Trent Vineyard from Monday-Friday. TCC was founded to serve both businesses and the local community. Over 90% of TCC's profits are invested into Trent Vineyard, helping to support the community and social action projects that help those less fortunate.
Studio Yoke recently rebranded TCC. Our next task is to create a set of interior and exterior wayfinding assets for the brand that help to direct customers to various areas of the building (toilets, reception, coffee shop, stairs, kitchen, bar etc.
Design Challenge #3: Packaging for book website
Counter Print are an online UK bookstore serving creatives. Their offering is specifically aimed at designers, photographers, artists and other creative professionals. Counter Print are looking for packaging to ship orders to customers.
They want to have packaging that feels simple so that the books are always the centre of attention, but they are also aware that their packaging needs to look great to ensure a delightful unboxing experience for their design-savvy audience. Create a mood board for a packaging solution in which all books will be shipped to customers.
